Biography
I’m a PhD student, under guidance of Prof Dr. Thomas Merckx, specializing in the field of urban ecology. My research focuses on the effects of light pollution on nocturnal insect communities in Europe by evaluating skyglow and artificial light at night (ALAN). I’m assessing community level responses of saproxylic beetles, typically associated to old forest, and species specific responses regarding ecology, behaviour and adaptation of the Central European firefly (Lamprohiza splendidula).
