I am doing a joint PhD (VUB promotor: Thomas Merckx; ULB promotor: Thomas Parmentier). My research focuses on the interactions between invasive species and urbanisation, using ants and associated arthropods as a model system. I am also investigating the usefulness of citizen science in the early detection of invasive ant species. My personal expertise mainly concerns the identification and taxonomy of European ants.
