Biography
I am particularly interested in plant-animal interactions and zoogeochemistry. My PhD mainly focuses on the interplay between herbivores, plants, and global change in the context of ecological stoichiometry. More specifically, the focus of my research is investigating the drivers of fecal N:P stoichiometry of mammalian herbivores, how these stoichiometrically variable fecal nutrients mediate tree-grass competition, and whether this zoogeochemistry impacts on tree-grass competition could be affected by increased CO2 and drought. Although my research is focused on savanna ecosystems in Africa (Gorongosa NP, Mozambique), my research questions are not limited to a particular field site, so insights could be transferrable to other grazed ecosystems, globally.
